Lavina's Tea party

A friend of mine, the lovely Lavinia has just set up a rather wonderful business - Lavina's Tea Party.

Trust me.
It's as exciting as it sounds!
Essentially she's running a vintage china hire online shop for all your tea party needs! Despite the early on set of Winter (eg rain) I'm still in love with the romantic notion of tea parties and have an undying attraction to all things floral. Situated in the Cotswolds, Lavinia will also cater for local areas (see website for details), and having lived with the lady in question I know she makes some of the best cakes in town!
Personally I'm particularly coveting her cake stands - I've wanted one for ages to photograph my jewellery on. Sadly I don't currently have the finances to warrant buying one, however since I started writing this post a few days ago (things got hectic...) Lavina has releases a Trio Range - a tea cup, saucer and plate - for a mere £8 I'm mentally debating whether I can afford one (they're so pretty!)
These are my current favourites:

(I apologise for the strange colours of the photos - I used picnik, which is great for the rounded corners, but I should have messed around with the colours in photoshop instead!)

ANYWAY Lavinia's Tea Party can also be found on facebook here.

I know I showed you these recently, but they seem rather appropriate...

C-C-C-C-Changes

I've been pretty dissatisfied with the look of my blog for quite a while now, it's seems pretty disjointed and a bit squashed, so I've spent most of today playing around with it and doing a little research into other blogs that I feel are really visually successful.

I want to say a massive thank you to the lovely Jazmine from Jazzabelle's Diary who took the time to share with me a great site which meant I could finally expand my column size so I don't always have to have square/ small photographs. From that I discovered the wonder of three columns and well the rest is history! I hope you like it, it sounds pretty sad, but I'm now really fond of the layout and look of the blog - little things and little minds I guess! I think I might go say good night to my lovely kittens (the novelty hasn't worn off) and get an early night. I hope everyone has something grand planned for the weekend! x

Time for Tea

I'm sure by now you're well aware I absolutely love the creations of Crown and Glory. I just wanted to quickly share with you one of their new designs, Time For Tea. These two bobby pins are part of the Afternoon Tea Collection, with hand-illustrated acrylic tea pot and tea cup charms, with a biscuit shaped cabochon! Lovely.

The Time for Tea Bobby Pin Set can be purchased here.

Deer Brains

Recently I was very lucky to win a set of Deer Brain pins after re-tweeting about it on Twitter!
Deer Brains is a rather wonderful blog written by four individuals discussing everything they find inspiring. To say they cover photography, art and fashion is to put it mildly! A great blog to follow for new and exciting things. (I also love their deer with a map logo!)

If you would like your own Deer Brains pins, they can be purchased here.

Rolling Thunder

Renewal Navy Lace Insert Dress - Urban Outfitters £45
Trilby - Zara £19.99
Kite Girl Brooch - Stolen Thunder £26.50
I Love Tea ring - Stolen Thunder £16.50
Robyn Bracelet - Wallpaper Rose £18
Jade Stone Nail Polish - Models Own £5

I thought I would show you a little more of the rather wonderful Stolen Thunder's collection. (You may or may not remember how utterly thrilled I was when Mr Wallpaper Rose bought me the girl with the umbrella brooch! I literally wear it all the time) At the moment I have a rather massive crush on wooden jewellery and brooches, so Stolen Thunder is one of my most trawled websites. I'm a particular fan of the little girl range. They've also just started using eco friendly bamboo that's both sustainable and renewable making it just that little bit better.

Anyway, if you love quirky, unusual 'costume' jewellery, this is the place for you! In other news, I thought I would show you my favourite new people, Rufus and Indie - the newest addition to our family :) x

That secret that you knew But don't know how to tell - Coming Soon

New charm bracelets, I'll try to get them on the website soon. I'd love to know what you think? x

Archie

For the first time in a good few years I thought I would have a go at actually painting something. I used to love painting at college, but it's just something that I've let slip. I had meant to attempt to paint my boyfriend something for his birthday (...to rival a good friend of mine, Sam!) but I ran out of time, so I decided to spend a couple of hours trying to paint his dog, Archie (who I love!) on friday. It's nothing spectacular, but I really enjoyed doing it! So hopefully I might start trying to paint a little more, because, well, why not?! I hope everyone had a lovely lovely weekend x

Lois Lane

Drape Neck Dress - Zara £19.99
Camera Necklace - Wallpaper Rose Jewellery (coming soon)
Black Lace Bralet - Topshop £22
Trilby - Zara £19.99
Triangle Lock Satchel - Topshop £32
Peach Sherbert and Nude Beige - Models Own £5

I think I was having a bit of Lois Lane moment when creating this outfit - I started styling for a 1940's reporter. I absolutely love the Zara dress, it satisfies my need for a peter pan collar, whilst remaining very affordable! I'll hopefully be getting the camera necklace online a little later today, but I will let you know.

What has everyone got planned for the weekend? I'm counting down the hours to the arrival of the kittens and then Charlie but 12 hours later! I'm also considering making savory muffins (I haven't ever tried before, does anyone have a good recipe?) and trying to paint something. I haven't painted since I was at college, so I should imagine it will be awful, but ultimately more enjoyable that job hunting! Have a lovely weekend, I'm sure I'll be bombarding you with kitten photos soon. x

The glove compartment is inacurately named - and everybody knows it

Coming Soon....

Matching sets - what do you think?
I'm in two minds about it, mainly because I'm so useless at matching things like jewellery, I'm normally more eclectic. Do you think it works? I apologise for the photographs of the 'tea set', they're just not taken very well - I'll re-photograph them before they make it to the website!

I haven't done an outfit post this week, I was mentally preparing one a little earlier - if I have time, I'll do it this evening! I hope everyone is having a good week, I myself am pining for the weekend! x
